I do appreciate the input, and we do have a bit of experience with birds (I was the VP of All Cape Parrot Rescue, under the owner/directors life imploded with Family issues and he along with 70+ birds packed up and vanished to Maine). The wife has been caring/keeping/owned by birds for most of her life, and I've been around them most of my life with the exception of college.
This isn't the first time I've been severly bitten by a bird and, considering we have three amazons from neglected homes, it won't be the last. Ra's is a 35 year old Amazon and regards everyone as a potential victim.
Yes, we've had numerous Quakers stop by for an extended stay at our home/rescue and we've always been able to find a good home for them. Check out the web for a local rescue/adoption home if there's noone in your house that can handle him.
There is a previous pic I posted of me and the big guys in the pics thread.
In this one you can just see the edge of our Scarlet Macaw over my right arm, while our Greenwing Demonstrates his wingspan.
And a clearer shot of our Scarlet on his cage.

When he first came to our home, he didn't like men. He grabbed my thumb one day and split it wide open, in barely an instant. Now, 5+ years later, he's much better with me.
