Worst phone ever. - Motorola Q Forum

I actually thought I fixed the problems with my phone. but I guess not. Excuse my rant... I turn my phone off every night to fully charge. I also keep backup files on my computer of my phone. Well today it decides to freeze up. I took the battery out and placed it back in. I went to turn the phone on normally and the alltel page comes up like normal. Then It just stay theres. Nothing else happens. This is the 4th time this is happened to me. I had to do a master reset. I put all my files back on my phone except my contacts. For some damn reason it wont let me add my pim file back on my phone. it keeps telling me the device has disconnected. Can someone please help me out. If not I am getting a new phone tomorrow..

swap it out at the altell shop, may just have a funky Q

this is my 2nd Q same problem. When I am on the web it restarts all the time. I tried to take all the proper precautions this time but it still sucks. I guess if the razor sucked, this phone will suck too.

the Q isnt a phone for everybody

Oh, its perfect for me when it works correctly. It seems that Motorola needs to fix these glitches. Yes they refund the phone with no problem but wouldn't it make more sense to fix the problems instead of just handing out new ones.

I troubleshoot hardware for a living, and two pieces of identical hardware having the same identical issue means one of a few things:

1. Bad batch line
2. Bad subcomponent
3. User caused

I would imagine that if it were a bad batch or bad subcomponent that Motorola would be aware of it by this point.

My questions would be what are you installing. Restoring from the same backup is indicative of the backup having a problem. Did the new Q work fine until the backup was migrated.

Its the same with people and companies who use images as backups and then migrate a corrupted image onto perfectly good hardware. The blame goes to the hardware.

Try a clean device and recreate the phone from scratch.

Excuse my rant, but I would be very careful with whatever new device you get. If you import the same bad data, if it is bad, onto that device, you may run into similar issues.

Now BB dont run WM, so the odds of the same software possibility is slim, but its still there.

Now, see I thought about this also but i don hardly have anything on my phone. I check my myspace and a couple of forums. I have about 8 ringtones I made, and I also have Google Maps on there. Other than that I do alot of texting but delete my texts pretty quickly. I try not let anything clutter up. I always kill my programs that I am no longer using. I really dont know what I am doing wrong..

Since alltell has such i crappy selection of phones I think I will just get this

since i dont want a flip phone.
