Word or Excel on Q? - Motorola Q Forum

I'm still trying to figure out which VZ phone to go with and wanted some more insight on the programs Q already has...

Other then Windows Media player and IE, what other programs does it have?

And does it have Microsoft Word or Excel on it?

The Q dosn't have Word or Excel on it by default. A person could purchase documents to go for ~$25 or bittorrent it for free.

I have Word and Excel 2003 for PC, can I use that or must we get a smaller version for phones?

I'm looking to do all my ordering and what not though excel like I do on my office PC..

I use a software that used in MPX 220 that it is the Repligo.This software converts the archives office for an accepted format for it.

I thought you can at least view Excel or Word files (but no edit)? I received and excel file via email, but it would not let me view it. Said something like the file was curropted or it could not be converted, but the file was indeed fine. All the write ups on the Q say that you can view them. Is it true?

you can view it...by default the Q can view word and excel files but will not edit them with out documents to go...perhaps the file was infact corrupted which is why it didnt work...

i has the same issue a while back, a Excel file attached to a email would not open (file corrupted or something like that), then i copied a Excel file straight tot the Q and i was able to view it.

i'm trying to have my boss pay for Docs To Go :}

a side note for doc to go
i havent been to happy with its PDF viewer...it screws up all of my pdfs for some reason...i just downloaded clearvue PDF viewer and it works fantastic!
