Default Windows mobile 6 upgrade in Q

Hi
I have a moto q on verizon having windows mobile 5 edition in it. I was wondering that as the new version is now out (6.0), can i upgrade my OS to this new version? If yes how to go about it ?

Any help would really be appreciated. I am desperate to switch to this new version

Freaky Q

By the way Motorola has responded to this question in the past.... I doubt it.

To Motorola, the Q is yesterday's news, its all about the Q9 now..

Apologies if this is old news but I found this link and thought it was pretty interesting:

http://qenusasupportforums.motorola....ostID=10127640

It's someone quoting a Sprint rep regarding an upgrade to WM6. Here's the relevant passages:

"I understand your inquiry regarding upgrade for Moto Q

Currently, we are working to launch the Windows Mobile 6 upgrade for Moto Q. Although, no official release date has been declared for the upgrade. However, as soon as the upgrade is launched, we will inform our customers with high profile promotions.

I understand that there are lot of customers waiting for the release and I can assure you that our technical department is working hard to make it available soon. I appreciate your patience and understanding in this regard."

If this is accurate, I would presume other carriers would do the same.

I think when the operator said 'upgrade' they meant the 9m. Sounds like user-friendly leagalise to me.

There is an update now for the Q. I was talking to a guy at Alltel about it the other day. He was telling me the new windows mobile 6 will fix some of the issues a lot of customers were having

I was going to ask if we can uprgrade them ourselves or is this something we have to take them to the store to do ?

a few months ago i asked Verizon and the answer in between the lines was no, will not happen. not sure where they are now, we do know that different reps say different things... and yea, connecting and an update would be nice, if that is the way it will happen i think nobody knows.
