Windows Live Mail - Motorola Q Forum

I just signed up for Windows Live Mail and tried to set it up on my Q. Is this a POP3 or a IMAP? Also is this different than hotmail? I am trying to set one up for my wife so we can send pictures to each other on our phones....I have looked for info on here but all I could find was for hotmail, not live mail. Any help would be much appreciated.

Is Live mail POP3 or IMAP4? Also what are the incoming/outgoing servers for it? Thanks

It's pop I guess...but you don't input any server settings. You install the app and sign in. Just like PocketMSN only Live has push mail...

I thought it was IMAP, since messages read on your Q will show up as read on the web, and vice versa and because you could sync folders.

I kinda thought that too but pretty sure I saw pop.live.com!

So I can set this up as a new account in outlook on my Q or do I have to download windows live to my Q, my Q doesn't like most programs I try to load. So I try to stay away from doing it unless absolutely have to, then it works fine with an .exe but not a .cab, weird. I want to use live mail username@live.com on my Q but can't seem to get it to work. Thanks. Actually I tried both pop and imap and it didn't work. It didn't work also with my gamil account....everytime it tried to send an email it would ask me to enter a password. I have learned some more things so I will try again tonight. You have to install the app. The bottom link is a cab and can't tell about the top one as they are down for maintenance! This is just like using PocketMSN only better...you do not set anything up in Outlook on your Q! Once installed you will have a link in Outlook though.
