Default Where do contact photos go?

I put my contact photos on the storage card, but noticed they still load even when you remove the storage card which means the phone obviously moves them somewhere on the phone. Anyone know where? Also, is there a way to keep the pics on the storage card, or are they so small it doesn't matter?

Camera or Multimedia Contacts Photos

Hello there. If you transfer you pictures from your PC/MAC via Bluetooth, it should go in File Manager and then My Documents. If you take pictures using your Q then it should be in My Pics/Videos.

I only put music in my storage card.

Thanks.

I'm guessing it becomes part of the record (pim.vol?). I added a photo to a contact on my Q, and I see the same photo in Outlook on the deskop (and I sync directly with the Exchange Server.

It appears photo contacts end up in \My Documents\My Pictures, whether you want them there or not.

I have one photo attached to a contact, and my \My Documents\My Pictures is empty. I did still have the original picture associated to the contact in a directory on my storage card. I moved it to another directory, and it still was in the contact record (following a reboot even).

(Also, I'm using the native contacts app. I haven't "upgraded" to something like Contracts Pro or anything.)

It definetly embeds the photo in the contact database and that is how it will get to your PC Outlook.

Rob.

applejosh and mobilerob are correct, the photo is embedded into the contact record itself. That way, even if you delete the original file, the contact photo is still there. However, if you edit the contact, it also has the location of the original file stored, so if you make any changes to that contact, it may go looking for that file to "re-embed" it into the newly changed contact. If that file has been moved or deleted, it could possibly lose the photo. I've had this happen, but not consistently, so I'm not sure what changes made to the contact make it go out and look for the original photo file and which changes leave the photo alone.
