Default Where did you buy your Q?

Hi everyone, I've been lurking here for a few days and hope you don't mind if I ask a question.

I currently have a Razr V3 with service thru Cingular (aka AT&T). I haven't been happy with my service and my contract is up soon. I'm planning on switching to Verizon and I've decided that I want a smartphone. After looking around I've decided on the Q.

My question is where did you buy your Q and what was your experience? I'm wondering if it would be better to go to a Verizon Store or order it online. Besides verizonwireless.com, I've noticed several websites that sell Verizon plans with the Q (including Motorola's own website).

I got mine throught the cheap-cheap Sprint data plan.

When I was in the Verizon store, I was offered a great deal on the Q (about $50 out the door) but the monthly cost was high. So even with two Verizon voice plans and two Sprint data plans I'm still $30 under what Verizon wanted for what I have.

I know that verizonwireless.com gives you instant rebates instead of mail-in.

I was 5 months into a 3 year contract with Telus PCS and decided I wanted a Q. To buy outright from Telus is $599.00 , so I bought one off Ebay for $220.00 thinking "I'll just switch it on my plan and use it as a phone, 'cause I'll never use that data stuff".

Well now, a month later, I've switched my $25. PCS plan to a $55. voice & data plan and am lovin' the Q.

I got mine directly through Verizon.

I have found in the past that VZW will take certain liberties for thier customers that a third party may not. They do this as a customer service to retain customers, and it actually works.

An example is that I have had them take a phone back well after the VZW warranty had ended and replace it on the spot instead of making you wait for one from the vendor. This is very crucial when the phone is inop.

Things like that keep me a loyal Verizon customer.

Sprint Employee Referral Offer through Enphonic.com

Paid $99 for the phone (found a $100 rebate later..)
$200 to cancel my previous Sprint plan
$30 a month when I was paying $49.99 base rate before for less minutes/no data

First one I got was defective, but this new one works quite well. I tend to think Enphonic.com gets like the "factory seconds" or something, but it could also be the string of bad luck I've had with electronics for... all my life.

I bought mine through AllTel for $199.99 out the door with a $100.00 rebate. For signing up with a new plan I got the other $210.00 off as an instant rebate.

I got mine off eBay for like $180, then just had verizon switch from my RAZR to the new Q.

And what's really interesting is that they added the unlimited data plan to my account without asking, which wasn't surprising, but when I looked at my total bill, it wasn't any higher than it was before. So unless I'm missing something, I might be getting unlimited data for free... or at least I did for the first month or so.

Verizon....free....with them for 20 years and definately top carrier but also top dollar even with special retention discounts.

Got mine from Sprint. If you are considering Sprint consider a SERO
plan...$99 for the phone and $30 a month for 500 minutes and free data.
