weird sound before connecting a call

My Q is brand new. It makes a weird buzzing sound, kinda like that empty buzz you hear right before a dialtone.

I have narrowed the cause of the sound to the light. it only makes the sound when the back light is on. its either really lit, hardly lit, or off, it happens when its at its brightest, when you first press any button and it goes away the moment the strong back light turns off and it goes into that dimmed light.

Does anyone know whats wrong with it?

Sounds like an internal error. It is a interesting problem that i would try to get a replacement but if its not all that annoying, then dont worry about it

it is quite annoying, and my 30 day guarantee is almost up, so ill go get another one tonight, i was just wondering if its a normal thing

That's just one of the many "quirks" of the Q. If you search these forums, you'll see this has been mentioned a number of times. Yours isn't the only Q that does this, some are worse than others. On mine it's virtually unnoticeable. I have to be in an extremely quiet environment to hear it. It is an electrical characteristic of the backlight. You can get a replacement, but don't be surprised if it does it too. Maybe less, maybe more, if you're lucky, not at all.
