Web browser latency?

Has anyone had any issue's with latency when browsing the web? It takes forever to connect to a site on my Q?
I'm on Sprint and in EVDo coverage. My download speeds are decent (not great) but the latency is horrible! I've tried several of the "speed" hacks but saw no difference.
I'm averaging around 3-5 seconds latency when doing a speed test.

I'm using www.dslreports.com/mspeed to test the speed.

i would find someone else in your area and test. preferably on another Q. that sounds way too high, but i don't think it would be the browsers fault. sounds like a problem with the tower/service
