Default VZ Navigator for Q

Can anyone tell me why verizon doesn't offer VZ Navigator on the Q, but they do on RAZR?? I'm thinking of upgrading from my RAZR to the Q, but I'll miss the built in Nav. Also, Treo 700W vs Q?? Anyone's thoughts?

VZNavigator and VCAST services use a different type of browser service that is not on the Q. It is more limited Internet. Although I am sure Verizon could develop software to enable vcast services, they won't. I am somewhat surprised they don't offer some sort of navigation service. I wonder if the Q does not have the same type of GPS in it.

I looked at the 700W and the Q at length... in fact, I nearly took my Q back for the treo... the main difference for me was the keyboard on the Q... I could type on it without an issue... the keyboard on the W was too narrow for "me"... many other features I liked on the W but I am glad I stuck with the Q... the only major heartburn I have with the Q is the same as most others... the battery life... I purchased the extended battery and for the most part it corrected the isssue... (now finding a case is a different story but )

VZ NAV requires the Get-It-Now Brew browser. Even if Q could support...it cannot download the software.

There are BT GPS devices you can sync with it but the VZW program is not usable with the Q right now.

After fully modding my Q to my satisfaction I would say scrwe the TREO completely. The Treo is too heavy and big and is too small a screen for stylus use. So even without full mods i would pick the Q.

Installing java and google maps is the next best thing unless you bond it to an external gps.
