Voicemail Shortcut - Motorola Q Forum

Every once in awhile when I have a voicemail, the upper right shortcut key that usually reads 'Contacts' will show 'Voicemail' instead and when I press it, it dials my voicemail. I like that, but its never consistent and only shows up sometimes. Anyone else notice this?

Nope, I just get the little voicemail icon next to my GPS. I press 1, and it dials my voicemail.

Yeah, mine does the same thing. I am with Sprint if that makes a difference. Like FourTwenSesh said, I just press and hold 1 to get to voicemail. Would be nice if the voicemail shortcut key would work consistently.

it is suppose to only show up if there actually are new voice mails...

That's the thing, mine doesn't always do that. There is always an icon on the top showing a new voicemail, but the right shortcut key won't always say voicemail when there is a new voicemail.

I find that the right soft key always changes to Voice Mail immediately upon receipt of a new message. However, if I do some other things (e.g. browser, calendar, any other application) the soft key will eventually change back to Contacts even if I still have not retrieved the voice message. Actually I prefer it this way. If I ignore it, it goes away.

what Scott says.. if you do other stuff in between it changes back to default.
