Default Voicemail counter not working

I am using a homescreen from KoolDezine and it seems to work great- but for some reason, my voicemail counter is stuck on 1.....and I have no messages. this has lasted longer than a day and still has not changed. My carrier is Alltel. I searched for this and found a few older threads, but no info on why or how to fix it.

Thanks

Try a different homescreen first and see if you get the same result.

If you do (and I suspect you will) then it's a problem with your carrier. The Q just reports what the carrier tells it.

I've had this before with Bell Mobility. The fix for me was to call and leave myself a voice mail and when I checked and deleted that one it went back to showing zero.

If that doesn't work then call Alltel as it's their problem.

it shouldnt be related to the homescreen...

try either
1. restarting the device
2. checking the voicemail to make sure you did delete everything
3. sprint Q's have a setting under 'start -- settings' i think called 'clear voicemail' see if the alltel Q has the samething and try if so try it

Nope- still no luck. I changed homescreens, then back again. I called my voicemail to double check, then I restarted it. I found no settings to clear voicemail. I have tried everything except calling myself and when I can get to another phone, I'll try that. Until then.....no luck. Thanks for the suggestions.

if its new you can master reset (wipe the entire phone of all items and return it to out of the box state) just make sure all your info is backed up like contacts and calendar info

My first Q did that. received a new Q from alltel that phone did the same thing.Tech support did a delete & reinstate a new voicemail service & the #1 notification reappeared , then he told me to wait 2 weeks and it would reset to 0, ya right !. so now I go into the registry & reset it from 1 to 0. and that clears it immediately . Alltel needs to look into the signal it sends to your phone for a voicemail reset notification, good-luck
