Default Viewing MP4 files

I see that the Q came preloaded with a few small MP4 videos that play just fine.

But when I save a MP4 video from another source to my memory card, and try to play it, it only gives me audio. No Video.

What am I missing?

I tried the useless Search function here.

Not a single result for MP4.

How about a link?

It's unusual to have the 'audio' and not the 'video'.....are you sure you didn't mean video but no audio??

Also, are you trying to view with Windows Media Player, or did you get TCPMP??

Thanks for the reply.

I get Audio only, no Video. This is on either WMP or TCPMP. Both just play the audio. (tcpmp gives me H.264 error message before starting up and just playing audio). (wmp just goes right in to playing audio only with no error messages).

Note that these particular MP4 files I am referring to came from my kid's ITunes program.

Oh I see, you are using H.264 encoded MPEGs. I don't really deal with that codec, but there is a plug-in for that which can be gotten from the same site...download and install the ffmpeg plug-in.

http://picard.exceed.hu/tcpmp/test/

The smartphone cab file from this zip folder...
http://picard.exceed.hu/tcpmp/test/f...in.0.72RC1.zip

Hope that's your solution...

Its getting closer. I now have a video display, but its basically still shots that change about once every 3-5 seconds.

When I loaded this one, it told me that I was loading it for an earlier version of windows mobile. I've got version 5. I didn't see any more recent CABs though.

Hmmmmm, I see. Looks like you need a faster codec plugin to be able to play those H.264 MPG4s properly. I'll see if there is any free options, as I think I read at Doom9 about the commercial CorePlayer having the proper AVC (I think) codec that would work.

It might be that the video file is too big and has too much data for your Q to decode.

They were only 5 or 10 minute videos.
