Default Verizon does it again

Well I go and get a new car today and make sure it has Blue tooth. Then I get on the internet and go to the cars website. Look up to see if my Q is compatible. Quess what fellow Qers, it's not.

Then I look at some other phones from Verizon, quess what, none of them let you transfer your phone book. So I look at Sprint, quess what folks, the Spinet Q lets you transfer the phone book.

So here goes Verizon again turning off things so that we would have to buy something from them... GREED and more GREED........

Oh yes, it was a Lexus that i got.

Contact your your congressman(woman) and senator, get some complaints going, seriously there is no reason I should not be able to put my contacts in my car for BT HFD that is a safer (and safety) feature.

So are you saying the Q will not work with the Bluetooth in your car? They won't pair?

Just make sure you don't get off the highway if you switch to Sprint? :D

My BMW does not pair the phone book specifically with the Q per the specs either. However, it works better than my Treo did. It does display the caller ID on the car and since the phone itself manages the voice dial tag, you record a name and number in the car and it dials it just fine from the phone. I am not sure what loading the phone book into the car specifically will do for me.

I did not say the phone will not pair, that it does. But it will not let me transfer the phonebook. And why, will sometimes the phone in in my breif case and I need a number to call. Much easier and also, i keep my eyes on the road as it will work with voice dial if the book is loaded into the car.

Maybe you guys should be buying American cars.

Unless of course, you don't live in America.

Check out clublexus.com or my.is. It can be done with a late model Lexus and Q. They may have a solution. I have in IS350 but no BT so I haven't investigated. http://clublexus.com/forums/showthre...hlight=verizon

Just remember that the reason that you cannot transfer your phonebook is because Verizon has disabled data transfer and object exchange over bluetooth.

If you have been with Verizon since the V710 incident, you should be aware of this. They have it plastered all over in the phone specs of all their bluetooth phones.

I have been hoping this would change, but they haven't budged an inch on this in almost three years.
