Default Using Q as MP3 Player in Car

Sorry if this has been talked about before, I tried to do a search but nothing too specific came up.....

I recently got a 2GB memory card and added on a ton of mp3's....On roadtrips I would love to be able to play my mp3's thru my phone and into my cars stereo....I have an '02 Audi with an in dash disc changer and a cassette player....Does anyone know if any company makes something we can plug into our Q and either feed the music through an FM channel or use it through a cassette adapter???

Its easy to use a cassette adapter, just need a 2.5 to 3.5mm adapter. Also, FM transmitters work, just have to feed them into the headphone jack.

I bought a 2.5>3.5 adapter and it didn't work out all that well.. I would only get sound out of one side of the speakers in my car.

If you bought it from RadioShack -- that happens to a lot of users. If you push it in, then pull it out slightly, it should work. Or you could be a philatropist, spend $10 (shipped?) and buy the adaptor Chris sells on this website... if you do it quick, he can buy something real nice for Mother's Day

I think the problem was that it was a 2 ring instead of 3 ring. Cause I purchased this one.

I did notice that if you do what you said about pulling it slightly out you do hear it on both sides, but it sounds distorted.

I went to Radio Shack today and wouldn't you know, they now make an adapter cable that is just for wireless phones....on the package it says, "Turns a 3/32" 4-pole wireless phone headset jack into a 1/8" stereo headphone jack. Ideal for use with phones that have a built in MP3 player or radio".....which is PERFECT....don't have to fiddle around with the jack or only get sound out of one side...it was $10....

Yep, works like a champ. What else is nice is the flexible cable. I trashed the 2.5mm jack on my IPAQ using an adapter and putting the IPAQ in my inside jacket pocket while on the motorcycle. This adapter helps minimize the stress on the jack... for my use anyways.

Radio Shack info:
Model: FG-06-0518-1A
Catalog #: 274-004
