Updating phone software? Need to backup?

I am gonna upload my phone software. I am using the regular Q on Qwest. Qwest just uses sprints network.

what I really need to know is this update going to erase all my programs & files. And if so can I just restore a Sprite Backup after the update to get all my stuff back. 90% of my programs are installed on my card. I just would rather not update if I'll lose all my stuff.

yes for the love of god back up
your phone will be wiped clean

you can do a sprite backup mainly for contacts and calendar items
not sure how it will act if you backup the system files since you are doing a firmware update

and just becuase the programs are on the card you would still need to reinstall them becuase you will loose the registry edits the apps make along with the shortcuts

plan on starting over. Even if your info survives the update, decent chance you may have to do a master reset after. Took 3 for mine to act right

nah fellow qwester...do a full sprite backup and then update. you can then restore with sprite. did it twice with the updates! You can even master reset after the update...update will stick..and the restore will replace all reg edits and programs...etc.

the update might be harsh like mine but sprite saved all!

Fyi...did u hear how we are migrating to verizon this summer? that means Q9c!

where can i confirm this rumor of switching to verizon? I hate verizon. I used to be with verizon and i got screwed over $993 because the rep on the phone never processed my plan change to unlimited the month before. I fought them for 3 years before I caved to save my credit rating.

plus im a employee...and it was announced a couple of weeks ago. im not a wireless emp though...

Does this mean the current customers that are utilizing Sprint's network will be transferred to Verizon? Or is Verizon's services offered through Qwest going to be a separate thing.

can either bundle verizon through qwest..have stand alone verizon..or go elsewhere.

if ya go verizon ya get same handset..or close to..or pay difference to upgrade. still working out the contract stuff but its looking like ya start over..all new.

shouldnt start till mid-late summer.
