Rev A. (revision A)
This is a great improvment. Sprint is about 8 months ahead in there build out of Rev A. It improves download speed, upload speed, and evdo coverage. It allows towers without high speed data to share the land (DSL line of a nearby tower wirelessly). It also allows the thruput of much more data per tower up and down. The Q can use most of the Rev A. standards. It can use the upload speed. I have tested it with over 1.4meg down, 900k up sustained in multiple locations and multiple servers. I use audible air (audible wm5 program) to download books (100-300 meg) for real world test as well as speed test sites. I have used it in Indy, detroit, ann arbor (horrible city), columbus, cleveland, and several other cities. Most devices require a firmware update to fully support Rev A. It is like WEP upgrade to WPA for wireless routers/cards/devices. WEP is ok for security. WPA is much better. Both require software and some firmware. All the new sprint cards are Rev A. capable. Hope this clears things up some.
