Unlock keypad, will not accept password justs start counting down from 255

My phone just starts counting down from 255 or 511 in the "unlock" section when I press the "unlock" button. I have tried a master reboot and it wont take it. The only way I can make a call is the voice command feature, any ideas?

wait until the counter goes down to 0 and then you'll be able to unlock your phone. If you keep entering the wrong password.. the counter will increase again.
