Default Two questions for the experts

Hey guys, two questions thats been bugging me:

1) How come I cant send pictures or picture mail? When i go to my pictures, I select a picture , then select send. It then takes me to the list that shows, text messages, outlook, yahoo IMAP (<---or what ever its called). But when i select text message and then send a message, the picture is never attatched. I also tried another way, which is send a regular text, then go to menu and select "insert". But picture, voice note, and file are all greyed out and cant be selected. Why is that?

2) Is there a program that I can download that saves my phone book and pictures, and videos for when we upgrade to a new phone, like the new Q? My brother purchased the new palm phone for sprint, and backed up all his stuff from his blade phone! Why doesn't this phone have one!?

Thanks guys

Sal

Default hey

Yeah, I do. I just did a google on this topic and read that we can't send picture mail. (SO F****ing moronic)

I also found out that I need outlook installed to back up my damn calendar and phonebook. I damn program I don't even use.

The more and more things that I'm learning I cant do with this Q phone, the more and more I'm starting to hate it. First no note pad, can't send picture mail, cant back up my damn data without spending money on a stuipd program that I dont even use. Why cant this company be smart and create it's own SMALL backup data program so we can upgrade our phones with any problems? I hate stupidity. Did the new Q 9 phone come out for sprint yet?

there are 3rd party apps for this to get a note pad program (one of which is free) and for backup if you dont have outlook there are other solutions search the site it will tell you how to copy and save the pim.vol file to your PC for you to back up calendar and contacts

and well if you still arent happy perhaps you should try another phone

the one from sprint is rumored to come out nov 23rd-ish

Here's an update for those who didn't know this...

I just updated my phones software, and the program that you use from motorolas site backs up your info such as contacts, pictures, video, calendar. I just have to re-install third party apps. For once, they did something right.

I never used Picturemail even when I had a regular phone -- seemed like a money-grubbing gimmick to me, like ringtones -- but I can understand how, if you're used to it, the Q is kind of annoying by virtue of not having access to it natively.

You could just get a gmail account. That'd solve your picture-sending problem, if not ideally for you.

Also, as far as Outlook is concerned, if I remember correctly, the CD that comes with the Q has a copy of Outlook 2002 and ActiveSync 4.1 or 4.2 that you can install. You don't have to pay any extra, as you get a license for Outlook and ActiveSync is free... I've had my Sprint Q for almost a year, tho, so I don't know if they're still including it on the latest "Getting Started" CDs.
