You could go the SlingBox way which gives control over your home television. I found it ok, but decided to return it due to the lack of Mac support. From a channel lineup, it's hard to beat MobiTV. I used them pre-EVDO, but I'm sure it's improved now.

I'm using a Hauppauge tuner in my home media PC along with Orb networks. Works amazingly well and no Q software to load and no monthly fees.

I use a slingbox and it works great, nothing like live tv and access to my pvr. Be carefull as network costs can get expensive. i also record TV content via Neros device to the memory card, no studder and no network costs.

What kind of bandwith usage are we to expect with something like orb.
I'm in Canada and have "unlimited" which is really only 250 mb. Just don't wanna go over my 250 mb. Any ideas?

Are you on Telus or VZW? 250 is low....I believe that was my first month of use.

With that and a few other random stuff my first month i racked up 280 and that was VERY limited access.

I prefer to use HandiTV just because I have tried all the other services and it seems to be the most flawless.

Hey Chris just thought I would let you know that SLINGBOX was specifically mentioned by name at our Talking Data Training on Wednesday. Training was totally pointless if you know anything bout data I think but good to know they are gonna enforce 5 gigs and mentioned Slingbox for noticable "bandwith hogging" during certain times.

I'm trying to follow up and see what else is changing.

Glad I'm not with vzw anymore where unlimited means limited and reliable network means unreliable network. Man I'm glad that exclusive is over I had to live with verizon for 9 looong months of calls not always ringing on my end. By the way is Slingbox now compatible with macs? Deciding whether to get a box or live with mobiTv 20+ channel lineup.

Verizon needs to be honest with us customers and not use unlimited as an unethical selling point.

On top of it all, it is illegal for us to stream anything. Yet Verizon allows a company they are affiliated with to sell streaming programs.

WTF
