In all the forums I participate, covering the Moto Q and the Palm Treo, all of which offer extensive coverage of different phones on the Verizon network using PDAnet, I have heard MANY people express concern about the prohibition of streaming content and the multi-GB limit on downloads but I have NEVER heard of ANYONE losing their account, or even getting some kind of repremand from Verizon for violating THAT particular term of usage...

Hi, Merv,

It's not all that rare for folks with wireless cards, so conceivably somebody using their Q or Treo as a modem could encounter it. Getting the LETTER is quite a topic for discussion here:

http://www.evdoforums.com/

But Verizon's being more upfront about informing folks that they will consider going over 5 GB as being indicative of the user violating the terms of service. I suppose some folks out there have busted 5 GB doing email, webbrowsing, and VPN, but I've never come close myself.

What do you mean by network costs?

I use Orb.com

The unstable system I run orb on causes me a few issues from time to time.

I would suggest to give Orb a try before investing in a slingbox.

Just got Slingbox and I must say it is sweet. Verizon needs to come around on their data usage. It is the wave of the future, get on board.
