OK guys, ive been searching everywhere for the answer to this question. Ive downloaded the TMCPC (FREE!?, which is why i DL'd it) to my desktop but i have to clue where to install the file... All i want to do is be able to watch a movie on my Q, ive tryed the windows encoder thing and thats too complicated (unless someone can halp me with a tutorial) and I have a SD card and i can also use the activesync if i need to, but i just dont know how to get it installed.. I downloaded the software from the site but no-go. If you guys could shed some light on my situation i would be extememly grateful! Thanks ahead of time!! Officer?

if its an exe file you need to run it from the PC while the Q is connected to the computer via active sync. if its a .cab file thn you need to copy the file to the Q via active sync and then on the Q you need to go to the file manager and find the file you just copied and then click on it and it should install

Or you could just browse to the download site using your Q and download the .cab file directly to it. This will save you the hassle of having to sync the files completely. Then install it wherever you like on your Q. Storage Card or Internal memory.

I currently dont have the data plan (they tend to drag their feet at verizon when upgrading an employee's service), therefore i cant get online on the phone without paying "as i go". But anyway, I've tryed draging the .cab file on my phone via activesync and with the memory card, still no luck. When i open the file on my phone it opens the internet explorer (which i know im paying for each time it opens and downloads this message, 10KB ) with a bunch of jubberish, same thing that happens when i open the file on my computer.. If anyones interested in what the jibberish looks like let me know and i can email you with the screenshot of either the phone or the computer. Any information on some free software that will play the AVI files or software that will convert the AVI files to WMV without being a rocket scientist would be awesome! Tryed the windows media encoder but its too complicated and/or wont let me do if im doing it right. But until then its looking like im going to have to buy some codec converter program (any suggestions?). Maybe an .exe program, which i cant find without being a dead link, would work for me? Also i apologise for asking again, but is TMCPC free? If not im going to purchase the CorePlayer.. (TMCPC update thats for sale right?) Thanks again, Officer! BTW, Love it here!!

Ok, here are the simplest steps I can explain it to you:

1) I know your phone is PAYG, but it sounds like you'd be willing to cough up the 5 bucks worth of data to download TCPMP to your phone. So, First open internet explorer on your Q.
2) Open the address bar (http://) and type this address into your phone.
http://picard.exceed.hu/tcpmp/test/
3) On your Q, download this exact file to your phone, there is a list with different files, but you need this one:tcpmp.smartphone.0.72RC1.cab
4) Your Q will ask you where you want to install the file. You can choose your Q's internal memory, or a storage card (I have mine installed on the storage card 2GB)
5) Once you have completed these steps, TCPMP will install an icon for you in your Start menu. Then you just have to worry about finding movies to download for your Q!

I hope this helps, its the easiest way to install it (I think anyways)
