Need Help Text message problem after firmware update

So I installed the firmware update with no problems...everything was great for a day or two. Then later on that day I received 2 text messages: this was clearly a two-part message (when you type a message over 160 characters it is split into two and sent). The first message was fine, the second one said something about how the phone can't support that kind of attachment. I called Verizon and they started the trouble ticket on Saturday. Meanwhile, every time I received a long message there was an error text sent to my phone AND the person's phone that sent it to me. Yesterday I noticed that I was no longer getting the error message...and the text is still cut off at 160 characters. Verizon tech support has considered this issue resolved, with this answer: "Verizon does not support EMS messaging on any Microsoft PDA nor does it plan to support this feature in the future. Any message with characters over 160 will be truncated and the characters over 160 will not be sent." This is BS! The feature was working just fine before I updated my firmware. Anyone else notice this? Thanks

Hmmmm...that's odd. I updated my software a week after I got my Q and I can still receive text messages over 400 characters and all 3 messages are complete and intact. I'm assuming you followed all of the steps in updating your Q's software since you can make and receive text messages. Maybe you can describe how you updated your Q, what tweaks you may have performed, and what other software you have installed. Perhaps the problem lies within one or all.

I followed the instructions on the moto website for the update, then once everything was completed I dialed *228 twice. Once for option 1, one for option 2. The only apps I have installed are Mapopolis and Photo Contacts. I have not tweaked anything else. Why would Verizon tell me one thing when obviously it is still working like it should for others? Weird.
