Default TCPMP and Q lock up issues

Well first of all, it took a lot of trial and error before finding that TCPMP version 0.66, with the applicable AAC plug-in was the only one that could playback MPG4s w/audio. Couldn't get any higher version plug-ins to work for the MPG4 AAC audio.

Now I am having problems with TCPMP freezing my Q when I try to exit it, also does the same when I try to kill it from TaskManager. I found a way around this by letting it just stay in taskmanager, essentially staying open....and changing to another video if I need to delete the one that's open in TCPMP.

If anyone has any insight to how to defeat this bug I would be greatly appreciative.

Also, does anyone know if this is still an issue with the commercial version CorePlayer?

Tried them all...versions 0.70, 0.71, and the 0.72RC1...with all the applicable plug-ins. Still kept getting the The AAC MPG4 decoder was removed due to intellectual...yada...
Only 0.66 w/ it's plug-in has worked. AVIs worked fine on all versions.
All versions cause the freezing upon attempting to exit. Think it's possible a software conflict with the OS on my Verizon Q..??.. So no-one else gets this 'blank white screen'??

odd... i doubt it is a software conflict as we all run Windows Mobile v5.0, i have had zero issues w/ TCPMP.

Hmmm. Possibly a defective Q??
I had already done a master reset before I traced down the issue to TCPMP, everything worked flawlessly until I re-installed TCPMP after the reset...that's when I pinned down what about it that was causing the 'blank white screen'.

Perhaps I should get a new Q? huh?

Well it's been two days and no lock ups since I stopped trying to exit or kill TCPMP. I can exit everything else and use the 'kill all except' TCPMP and no issues. So the phone is fine, it's just something to do with TCPMP and my Q.

I can live with it this way, no worries, but am wondering if anyone had similar issues with the commercial version, CorePlayer Mobile??

Also does CorePlayer offer better quality playback than TCPMP? What's the difference that might make me decide to pay $25 bucks for that commercial version??

Thanks in advance

Just wanted to update this thread about my issue...

First I found out that this freezing to a blank white screen when you try to exit or kill TCPMP, is a known issue of versions up to 0.71.

Upon finally finding out that 0.72RC1 didn't have that issue, I went to that version and kept the AAC plug-in for version 0.66...Now it works absolutely perfect, withno freezing white screens upon exiting, and playback of AAC audio in the MPG4 files is all working correctly.

Perhaps version 0.72RC1 also didn't have this issue when I had that version on my Q the first time, just didn't know it was a TCPMP issue at that time, so didn't know if it was happening while I had that version installed on my Q then..

And I'm not sure if I installed the AAC plug in for version 0.72RC1 incorrectly before to not be able to play that audio in the MPG4 files, but the plug-in for version 0.66 is working so I'm not tinkering anymore...LOL

Just thought I'd update this thread just in case someone else runs into this problem...It may help them...I wish I knew back then...
