Default Syncing outlook email

Ok, so I am starting to figure this thing out. I have one problem that still driving me nuts, though. I set up gmail right away with no problem. Today when I got to work I downloaded Win Device Manger and synced my phone to my work Outlook account. It downloaded my calendar just fine, and it downloaded all the email in my in box, but I can't send or receive emails from the phone. I have to wait until the phone is connected to the computer. I followed the instruction in the manual for setting up an email account but it just creates an new email account called POP3, it does not merge with the Outlook Email account that is already established.

Any suggestions?

What if you assign your gmail account to outlook. Will all the settings work the same as if you were to set up a gmail account under new account on the phone?

you cant set gmail to the 'outlook' account on the phone
only exchange mail comes through that or if you sync email from the to the Q with the USB cable

anything else is either pop or imap
