Sync Issues - big problems!

Hi there - I'm a smartphone noob. I am not even sure I'm posting this in the correct subforum.

I have a Q that I just bought, and I use Verizon Wireless. I am having big sync problems. My gmail syncs fine, but my work email syncs only when I'm close to my work computer. (In both cases, I'm referring to wireless sync).

Oh and when I activesync'ed my Q with my work computer, I got duplicate emails in both locations (on my pc in outlook and also on my q) and it erased ALL appointments on my pc's outlook.

Furthermore, I'm confused as to how to transfer files via wireless or activesync.

Finally, a bluetooth problem - at home I use a Dell Inspiron laptop 1505 and Windows Vista. I have bluetooth on that laptop. My Q will see my laptiop (through bluetooth) but my laptop will not recognize the Q no matter what I do! I don't have an infrared port on my laptop, and since I can't seem to sync files, I was really hoping to be able to use bluetooth.

I'm sorry for all the questions - please help a noob!!! Oh and I tried to search for the answers in the forum before starting a new thread, but it's all Greek to me!
