Default Something Wrong with Your Q? Try this FIRST!

Do you have a Q that freezes, locks up, or performs sluggishly? Have you ever woke up in the morning and found your battery half-gone, even though it was on the charger all night long? Have been suprised that your battery has drained over just a couple of hours?

All of these problems are (typically) by-products of THE SAME THING. WM5 is lousy with memory management - it allows programs to open but never closes them until you power down or pop the battery out of the phone.

If you suffer from any of the above maladies this is what you should try FIRST - Go to the Start Menu and go into the Systems Tool folder. Select Task Manager. Use the Menu button, then select KILL ALL. This will shut down all the open applications and restore your Q to its old, zippy self and improve your battery life IF you left a processor-intensive application running in the background.

Once you have used the Task Manager its little Sprocket icon will stay in your frequently used menu bar. That's a good place for it, because you will be using it OFTEN. I probably use the Kill All function two or three times a day. If you remember, use it before you put it on the charger overnight and its unlikely you will experience anything but a fully charged battery in the morning.

not to dispute and minimize what you experience, but we were just talking about this killing of apps here: http://www.everythingq.com/forum/sof...ften-6733.html

I tried to make the title of this string more direct - hopefully to attract the attention of users who are complaining of lockups, sluggishness or button pushes "happening by themselves".

that's why i didn't want to sound like i was minimizing your to-do's in a case of a misbehaving Q... in other words i know you mean well & try to help other owners.

I agree Merv--and would add that I try to reboot (turn off an on) my phone first thing in the morning. It seems to "need" to be rebooted occasionally.
