Default Silly Question about Text Messages

Just wondering what is the purpose of the outbox? All of the sent messages are in the "sent items" folder...? It sort of annoys me that it's there.

Outbox is a holding tank for messages that haven't been sent.

Sent items have been received and acknowledged by the network.

Question

Isn't that what the drafts folder is for?

I have always wondered the same, I think it's because the mail application was not originally written for use of text messages. Kind of a funny thing if you think about it.

Pretty much, the outbox are messages that are sent and you cant stop them. They will go to the intended person as soon as you get service. Drafts are not sent and can be edited before being sent.
