Default Should I replace my battery?

So a month ago I replaced my lost phone with a sprint Q from ebay. It was pretty cheap ($50) and in like new condition but it didn't come with a battery. I went with 2 dirt cheap ($12 total) standard batteries on ebay. Now I know battery life varies with different people but I'm starting to wonder if the batteries I got weren't good in the first place. On standby I get at most 17 hours with little to no use at all.
I haven't thoroughly tested talk time but I've used it for about 2 hrs before without total depletion. I don't use it much for calls anyway and I don't use data at all. I mostly text (30-50 a day) and maybe use 20-30 minutes of calling a day. I've applied every sort of power saving hack I could find ranging from registry hacks, backlight control, always killing tasks, MOL updates and forcing 1X. Should I be getting better battery life? Bad batteries? Could it be the phone itself? I'm pretty satisfied with the phone but I just wish it would last at least a day on standby for those days I'm not near a charger and away from home.

Well first of all ive heard that the power savings hack actually makes your abttery life go down faster. Also shut off infrared in settings - connections- beams

turn of bluetooth you can just go to wireless manager when you tap the home key and go to wireless manager or jsut go to the bluetooth folder and settings

put keylock on
which is home key and space key

if doing this doesnt get your q to go atleast 2 days without charging like mine
and your the kind of person who seriously needs his q to go days without dying then i would suggest getting a new battery.

UNless some other members have different solutions

Well the registry hacks gave me over an hour extra on standby. As for IR beams and BT, they were turned off from the beginning since I don't use them. Locking didn't seem to help battery life at all and I prefer not to have my phone locked most of the time. I haven't found any other tips after scouring q forums and sites so it looks like I maxed it out software wise. I also forgot to mention, I'd rather not have an extended battery because the slimness of the Q is pretty important. It's already a pretty wide phone but the slimness allows it to comfortably fit in my pockets. I'm also considering trying out the seidio slim extended 1300mah battery.

i see your point but go for the battery then..and also seriously consider the key lock..it only adds 2 extra clicks to disable. And it adds about a day of life

I probably will get the battery. Not too sure on the keylock though. I had an auto keylock app installed for a while and it didn't seem to affect battery life at all. It's mostly bothersome when I'm texting back and forth or on aim (aim sms) and have to constantly unlock to reply to a message.

the keylock doesn't always add life. even wile locked a keypress will still turn the backlight on.
I usually keep a charger (or an extra battery, depends on the day) with me just in case.

I see your point...well good luck with the battery then..If you do get it let me know. I might get a new battery for my Qwertinator as well. I find that switching batteries is annoying..just my opinion

I ended up getting a mugen 1300mah instead since it was over $20 cheaper after shipping than the seidio. Dropping $47 on basically a standard battery didn't seem too appealing... Will post results when it comes.

So I got the battery a couple days ago. It looks like I can get around 20hours now. An improvement but not what I was hoping for. I did run into a problem though, the battery never "seems" to be fully charged ("charge complete"). Whenever I plug it in the indicator [settings > power management] only goes about 25% of the way. When I unplug the charger however, it shows a full charge, 75%, 50%, etc... I've charged and discharged it 3 times already. Not sure why it does this but I sent mugen an email to see what's going on. I'm also not sure I'll keep this battery anyway. 2-3 hrs extra doesn't really give me much, especially since I could get 5 standards for the price of one 1300mah slim battery.
