Default Serously thinking on getting a Q

Hello...

I am a current VZW user, I have a standard cell phone. I am seriously thinking on upgradeing to the Q. It will be my first smart phone, I really like
some of the features this phone has. I also like what the fact that the quality on the phone side is rated high. What I wold like to know is how is this phone for a first time user. I feel like this type of phone is the way to go for me becuase of its capabilites. Guess what I am asking is this phone going to be the best bang for my buck or is there something else I should be looking at.

Thanks in advance for any type of input.

I just got my q Monday. First smartphone for me as well. I would say it is the best phone / pda I have ever owned. Sure, it was a little bit on the slow side when I first got it, but I went into the hacks side and did a few quick registry edits and it is a powerhouse.

Simply put, the Q will do anything you want it to, whether the feature is out of the box, or you have to install something, or hack something. The phone quality is amazing. Sitting at home I have around 1 bar of service (and sometimes the q will show none, but I still get evdo and can use all features well) and I can make / receive calls perfectly. The most amazing thing I have done with the q is install the tcpmp core and flash bundle, and then I use youtube, google video, and divxtube.in and can watch movies on the go. I pop on dave chapelle standup, and listen to it while going down the road.

Dollar for dollar this is the best device I have ever purchased. If I had the extra cash though, I would go with the HTC Mogul, simply because of the updated features (and I'm on sprint).

As you can tell, I absolutely love this device.

Well, I'm new to smartphones and have never had a PDA or similar device. I can say that the Q is the first phone that had email, text msg, internet, and photo/video capabilities that are actually "useable". I the past I have had small "flip phones" with tiny screens and regular cell phone key pads. The Q has a great keypad layout that you can actyally type on. The screen is big enough that you can watch videos with out going blind and the camera isin't that bad for a 1.3 mp. The 2 Gig mini SD card holds quite a bit and some people have had luck using 4 Gig cards.

Theres plenty of free/cheep programs to run on the Q which will increase its abilities and usefullness. So far I am very happy with mine!

I've had my Q for about a month. I migrated from using a Razr and Palm Z72. Decided it was time to modernize my cell and PDA experience. I probably would have stayed with Palm if they had offered something of comparable size, but the Treos all seem big and heavy to me. Now that I've made the change, I'm still getting used to it. All in all, I really like my Q and wouldn't go back or trade for anything else I've seen out there.
