SD card - Motorola Q Forum

i just got a sd card, im just wonderin if you have to format it any certain way when its in the phone, i transferred some of my programs over to the card, but now the programs wont open and im wondering where u put the songs, do u make a folder in the card or just put them in the main part.

Well, I put programs in folders that I make on the card, but music I just put into the root directory (which you should make sure you do as well). Seems to work ok for me that way.

alright but when u put programs on the sd card, you delete them from the memory of the phone so how do they open when u wanna open them?for instance i moved the tetris game to my sd card, deleted it from the phone, and it says it cant open now.

Because the path that your Q accesses Tetris from has changed. Now you will have to do Remove Programs from the Start menu and reinstall correctly to your SD card.

how do u install directly to ur sd card

Well, the program should be installed via a .CAB file onto your Q, when you click on the CAB file (using your Q) it should ask where you want to install it. Just create a folder on the SD card before doing this and you should be good to go.
