Default Responding to emails sends a copy back

Hello all,

I set up a Gmail account on my Moto Q. It works great. The only issue, and it's not really an issue, just an annoyance, is when I send/respond to someone. The email gets sent successfully, but for some reason it mirrors the sent message and I end up with my response in my inbox as a new message. Reason this concerns me most is because I'm on the 10mb data plan, and half of the usage is probably my proxy message coming back from gmail into my inbox.

I've logged in via the web into gmail and have confirmed my sent messages are indeed getting sent, but is there any way to stop this duplicated email that comes back to me?

Thanks.

If you have another gmail acount (or you can create a new one) you can setup your main gmail acount to send copy of incoming mail to the secend acount.

Set your Q to download mail from the secend acount and send mail from your main acount.

This way you can trick gmail and avoid from this duplicate mails, and of course you will see all emails/response in your main acount when using the desktop computer.

I read this solution in an old post and its working great for me.

Good luck.

Question

Great idea, but how do I set gmail to receive from one account and send from another? Do I need to change the incoming server?

You have to set the incomming server (pop) with secend acount and the outgoing server (smtp) with main acount.

How do I know what the server is?

You have only to set up user & password, one from main acount (for outgoing server) and user & password of the secend acount for the incomming server.

the server ur:

pop3: pop.gmail.com:995
smtp: smtp.gmail.com:465

This way you send mail with your gmail main acount and recivieng mail with your secend gmail acount.

As i wrote, this way you can trick gmail and avoide all those mirror emails.

Exclamation Confused

Sorry, I guess I'm kinda dumb with this computer stuff. Those already ARE my incoming and outgoing servers under "e-mail setup" on my Q... how do I make it get incoming e-mail from the new account? Do I need to change something within Gmail?

Yes. in the incoming server screen you have to enter the username & password of your new acount, then choose outgoing server setup at the bottom (blue link), and enter the username & password of your main gmail acount.

Ah, I got it. Didn't realize there was an "outgoing server" setup. Thanks for your help!

Question

OK, still not working... when I try to "send/receive" email, it asks me for my password. I type it, but it keeps asking me for the password again and again. Any ideas?
