Default Replying to vtext.com email

I just got my Q and really like it. I have so far only one problem. When my friends send a text message to my email account I cannot respond using my Q. I get some undeliverable message. To further explain: my friends send a text message to my work email account. It shows up as a myfriend@vtext.com. When I am at my office I can reply through my computer and it shows up as a text for my friend. However, when I am on the road I cannot respond using my Q.

...and yes I know the simple answer is to just send a text, but the company doesn't like that option.

Any thoughts to help make this possible?

Thanks.

Basically a vtext.com sent to a #, appears as a text message (charged as text message), so often, I ask vtext users to send SMS text to my email, so it's part of my unlimited data.
When you respond, they're still getting it as a text message - so while it gets truncated to 160 characters, it SHOULD still get there.
Perhaps 'quoting' the original email is making it too large... and/or.... the subject line of their "email" is counted as part of the text.
Basically, when I reply via email - I remove the subject line and any quoted text, and make it very brief (one line)
