So I went to take it out and put it on the new faceplate and I broke it... I'm not sure if the little metal thing really is the problem but I need to know why I am now not getting any signal... If someone could please help I would greatly appreciate it...
My guess would be the metal thing was the antenna?

most likely that was the antennae. you might need to buy a scrap phone with a bad esn for parts because I dont think any one has the antannae piece for sale

that is the one. but my thinking is to buy the whole phone so you have all the parts and not need to worry about trying to find things. You could just buy the antennae but The way I usually do it is try to buy bad esn phones so I can use all the parts.

That's a good way to go to. Even the bad esn phones go for quite a bit though.

some times. i just saw a couple for under 50 . so you figure if you have to buy every piece separate. you would be better off buying the bad phone

True. I did get lucky on my Q (working). About 50 shipped on ebay and it came like new. I ended up swapping the housing (also from ebay) anyway because I preferred black over sprint grey.
