Random alert notifications?!??!

I can't believe nobody suggested checking the Unread Message Alert settings applet. That sounds a reminder every 15 minutes or so if you have unread E-mail, texts or (maybe) voicemail.

It's horribly annoying because there's no message displayed (and no way to configure the timing).

Try this to narrow it down . . .

go into the profile you are using and turn off sound for each of the items one at a time and see if you can find out what it is (text, email, system).

I am guessing it some system sound. This may not tell you exactly what is causing it, but it will get your closer.

Also check your processes running in the task manager to see if there is anything running that maybe shouldn't be.
