Default Ram Memory

I've noticed that my Q is running slower it seems the last few days. I went to look at my memory manager to see if maybe I had a problem there. I'm showing that I have 31.06MB free on device storage and plenty on my card storage but my ram storage shows 12.47 mb free. Could this be causing a problem? If so what exactly uses the ram memory on the phone?

Your ram storage is used by your programs memory

You know that when you close an app in windows mobile, actually it doenst get closed but it actually gets minimized.
go to strat?accessories>task mangers (running prpgrams) and kill all programs

also delete your internet explorer cache. open ie and then options?memory

Yeah I always make sure I kill programs. I had not ever cleared my IE files though so I'll do that. Thanks for the help.

IE cache has nothing to do with ram memory. Ideally, you should have 25MB free ram after a reboot with all tasks closed. However, after a day of running/closing programs (general usage), you'll have 13MB with all tasks closed due to memory leaks.

It doesn't affect you too much except that you'll notice programs like IE will close themselves automatically more frequently. Best remedy is to reset each day.

So how does running programs on your phone vs running them on a SD card affect the RAM? Seems like running them on the card would help prevent the RAM leaks and also keep the program from holding onto any RAM after its closed. Seems like a hot topic lately.

Device storage is saved greatly when you clear out the Temp files in your IE, as well as the history folders in IE, mine went to 10mb just by clearing those, and it was upwards of at least 15mb.

like I said, Temp files, IE files are storage and do not affect RAM. Neither does running progs from the card vs. internal memory.

So what you are saying is that no matter where you put your programs and files whether it be on you Q or SD card, it effects the RAM the same? I have heard and read alot of varying opinions on this lately.
