Default Question about everyone getting replacement phones...

I just got a brand-new-in-box Q off ebay. To you all who got replacements when your phones malfunctioned, did you have insurance on the phone? Or did they replace it b/c it was a hardware error and not operator error? Also, is there any sort of update I could do to make sure it's running the latest software, so I don't run into problems? Thanks guys...oh one more thing...does Verizon let you insure phones that you don't actually purchase from the store?

Doesnt the Q come with a 1 year warranty from Motorola?

Mine was also bought new in box off of ebay and yes I had to replace mine. Verizon exchanged it with no problem with the 1 year warrantee. I also have insurance on my phone so yea they will let you their is no way of them really knowing anyway unless you tell them

Awesome man. Yeah mine's brand new in box did you just bring it in to them to get insurance? I called a local store and they said I have to bring it in to show it's new, is this correct? Also when I went in to ask (don't have it yet) they were like "yeah as long as it's not off ebay!" and asked if I bought it off ebay, to which I said I didn't lol.

Default bought retail at bestbuy

i bought my phone retail from best buy. i had just started a contract maybe 6 months before so i had to pay retail for a new phone and figured i'd get a good one...so i got it at best buy straight up, no insurance...it messed up once, they replaced it no questions..then sent me another replacement and that was messed up too..got the 3rd replacement no questions and this one finally has been working like a charm..so i guess u dont need the insurance for these purposes
