Default Q9M keyboard lock requires PIN

Seems I have found one thing differnet on our Q9's than the older Q's: When using Outlook 2003 SP2 OMA with MSFP device wipe enabled, when you lock the keyboard on the Q9M it requires the PIN code to be entered to unlock while the older Q allow you to simply press the asterisk button.

Now we have many users complaining when they simply want to unlock the keyboard it is prompting them for the MSFP pin.

Please let me know if you have any ideas. We have our activesync device lock set for 12 Hours.

thank you,
-Bob

Disable the pin lock requirement on the server.

Thanks. I'm sure disabling the entire lock-out/wipe device feature is OK for some but not for us.

I wish there was a setting on the phone which said, "Do not enforce PIN on keyboard lock".

On the original Q the Device lock and Keyboard lock were two different things. On the Q9 it seems they are one in the same and cannot be separated.

Or just have them use maniac's keylock program.
locks keypad without requiring password.

Thanks for the reply Tony.

Where do I find maniac's app? I looked on your list of apps and there is something there called Autolock but no link.

I also looked for users with the name "maniac" but there was no exact match. Also looked through the messages to see if someone with the title had started threads in this form but could not find him. Sorry to bother you but if you can help that would be great.

Thanks!
