Q won't completely power up ...

While playing the Bubble Buster game on my Q, the handset screen freeked out, and I had to remove the battery to power off. This game is on the handset, not the internet. Now, when I try to power up the handset, the screen shows the Verizon Wireless logo for an inordinate amount of time (2 minutes), then the the screen starts wigging out again. I have tried a different battery with the same results. Wide vertical white lines shifting positions rapidly. Any ideas on what I can do here? What are the two round slots behind the rubber gasket, next to the camera flash on the back? I'm hoping they are resets!! Any help is appreciated.
