Q shuts down windows when running activesync - Motorola Q Forum

I have reloaded activesync, followed the troubleshooting steps to insure my firewall is not blocking...but whenever activesync attempts to sync windows reboots...ideas?

Try Start>Run> and type msconfig

Once you open the System configuration utility, go to the startup tab (at the top) and uncheck all the items except for ActiveSync. Reboot and that should fix you up man.

Activesync is not in startup

So your computer reboots only when you plug in your Q? OR does it do this with a digital camera, etc.?

It only reboots with Q. I had a problem with itunes not booting up, and windows rebooting when I synched my ipod, I downloaded latest update and all is well. Activesync starts, tries to sync and shuts down when I plug in my Q.

So what version of ActiveSync are you running then? You need version 4.5, so that could be why its doing the reboot like your iPod with iTunes

I dumped ActiveSync and reloaded the newest version once I started having problems.

Yup, that's a wierd one man.....what information does it give you about your USB drives in Device Manager? Are the drivers installed correctly? If they are, I can't really think of anything else to be honest. That is just plain wierd.
