Default Q set to 104mhz?

the divx player TCPMP says my Q is 104mhz, is it possible US Cellular underclocked their Qs to save battery life?

i noticed that "iamjames". I had that player installed trying to get my itunes to work. After killing it in the tasks i got the white screen, so i uninstalled it and searched the treads for something else to try. I then found a program which unlocked my songs from itunes and now windows media will play them on the phone. But anyways i got off track lol. I have US Cellular and noticed the speed as well. I hear there's a hack to bring the speed up, but my question is why would you want too? Or i should say: Why would you want to unless you have a bigger battery since the two that comes with the Q suck lol

This may help...

You can look to see the threshold settings and change them if you decide you'd like to.

I bought the 3200mAh battery from Seidio. It's amazing. Went from charging twice a day to charging every other day. A "must buy" in my opinion.

Because the Q is very, very slow. I even had problems with the Q keeping up when I was dialing numbers, I would type the # faster than the Q could keep up and it would miss digits, requiring me to retype it.

I followed the guide:
"\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\IPM
Change the value in Key "ProfileType" to 0.
"

and it's much, much faster. Programs just "snap" up immediately. Programs like Flexmail start nearly instantly instead of the loooooong wait like before. Movies load faster.

This is great I feel like I bought a new phone! I'll have to see how the 3200mAh battery handles it but I'm sure it won't have a problem and I can always set it back to "5" if I don't like the battery life.

Oh, and technically this isn't "overclocking" the cpu. This is the speed it was designed to go, and Motorola clocked it back to 104mhz to save battery life. This is common in mobile electronics: Sony's PSP was underclocked to 222mhz from the factory instead of default 333mhz to save battery life too, and only a firmware update from Sony (or hack) could change the speed to 333mhz.
