Is there a way for me to use my Q in Jamaica?

Turn it on? Your Q will work fine anywhere, but where calls, internet, and connections are concerned you should ask your carrier. I don't believe the Q, as a device, is limited, but it's definitely limited by the towers.

I know my AllTel Q won't get a signal in a few states, but I will get a signal in some other locations. For example, when my girlfriend and I went on a cruise this past spring I was able to place a call from the Caymans, a weak one, but I placed the call.

Check with your carrier re: roaming charges..with Telus, it looks like I''d have to pay .99/min in-country calling, .99/min + international long distance charges for incoming calls (from in-country or from home here) and .99/min + international long distance charges for calls out of country to other international destinations.
For some reason, calling home (canada or US) is 1.49/min. All in US dollars I might add.

Telus's international long distance rate for Jamacia is $2.02/min

Might wind up with a helluva bill.
