| PushEffect Issues... So I've installed the trial version of PushEffect, and still haven't gotten the bugs out (so to speak) yet. I have uninstalled and removed, and reinstalled and still gotten the same results. The issues I have are as follows:
1. All emails (most actually) don't set off the signal. (when I tried the "test" email to sprints server, there was nothing in the body, and the only thing in the sender area was my email address, so I'm assuming that the "@" symbol would be ok to let be the default signal.????????????????
2. I have a gmail account setup on it, and the messages that do come through are deleted from my Q almost imediatly after opening them. In another thread, I read about others having the same problem with this, but there was never any reply or solution to it, that I could find anyway.???????????? I also have another account (company email) setup on it and they don't get deleted, but they take forever to come through (up to 40 minutes), and once again, some do not comethrough at all.
Please help me, I love the idea of Push, as I am a previous BlackBerry user. I just don't understand the problem as it is never consistant. Also, I have been through the setup proceedure over and over again. Thanks in advance for the feedback. |

I wouldn't totally rule it out just yet, and besides they offer a free trial that you could easily remove should you experience simular issues with the software. |

I totally agree. I may still give it a try. I dont know why Sprint left this feature out. More people would be buying the Q if they had the Push feature. Hopefully they will give some type of upgrade soon, that will coreect this problem and MMS mail. I think they really dropped the ball with the Q. |

I have the vzw Q with Gmail and PushEffect and couldn't be happier. I use the @ symbol in the sender area for certain accounts and it works like a charm. Frankly I have not discovered ANY bugs. In fact, PushEffect works exactly as advertised. I also use it with an account from my ISP without any problem. I have several friends that use it very successfully with the Sprint Q as well.
The gmail deletion problem has to do with gmail NOT PushEffect. Don't download the entire message (a setting in Messaging). That's the trick. You also have your POP3 settings in Gmail set to delete messages after they are accessed. You need to change that.
A 40 minute delay could only be attributable to an SMS gateway problem with Sprint. My messages arrive within 10 seconds of hitting the server.
I think your problems are all settings related.
PushEffect is definitely a pleasure to use. It is very reliable and I depend on it everyday. I couldn't imagine my Q without it at this point.

Thanks again for the help. I don't bet anyone can tell if you're able to turn off the obnoxiously loud start-up sound that windows mobile makes, can they? |
