Default Programs stored on SD or Main Memory?

I created this thread to discuss which programs should be stored & run off the main memory on the phone and which ones can be stored on the SD card. I realize running any program off the SD card is not as efficient as running off the main memory, but it seems some programs have to run off the main memory in order to work.

I'm the opposite, everything Internal Memory, except for games which go in SD. Unless it's a critical game

to save space: If you use UPX4PC you can shrink down the size of executables so they don't take too much space. Set up SKTools to run at 3AM so that it clears out temp files & IE cache.

OMG Huge Edit!! 3/8/07

I install all my programs on the internal memory, and save the SD card for data/downloads. I used to install everything on the SD, but it seems like my Q crashed more often that way.

This is pretty common sense. Anything that is co-dependent on the OS or visaversa should be stored on the main memory. This would include things like Fizz Weather, Fizz Monitor, Facade, Smarttweaker. Everything else I stick on my 4GB card.

Lots of people here are wondering how you get your 4GB SD card to work. Can you please post for them?

There is a thread here... http://www.everythingq.com/forum/mot...html#post47705

I bought this one http://memorysuppliers.stores.yahoo....t4gbmised.html

No sense in trying to cut corners to save 10 bucks on another card, these folks are obviously targeting this market.

The key is to get the low speed version.

Thank you, although my storage card issues are non-existent, this seems to be a big problem for many users.

My booklet says in place to not use more than a 1gb minisd chip and the next pages says 2 gb. What's the biggest single chip I should use? I was thinking about storing mp3's on chips in case I wanted to use my Q as a media player when I am travel. I bet that uses up the battery quickly, huh?

Thanks,
-Ben
