Problems with new Q

I'm going to the sprint store tomorrow, but checking to see if there's any software fix for this problem. Just got a new Q in the mail today and the backspace key is not working at all. I've googled the problem and have only found one mention of this issue. Anyone ever seen this before?

Just to be perfectly clear...exactly where on your MQ is the key located?

it's an arrow on the top row next to the power on/off red button. I actually received two Q's - the other one (for the husband) works fine.

Does your back button beside the thumbwheel work?

Yes. I seem to have fixed it, although it's still sluggish. Pressing down VERY hard with a pencil eraser seems to have 'unstuck' it and now it's working, albeit not as easily as the other phone. Yes, I could return it and get another, but my sprint guy says that could cause problems with the rebate. Now it seems to be working well enough so I'll wait and see what other problems crop up first .. (I do have TEP).
