Default Problem with the Q keyboard

Okay, so I have a strange problem. I was replying to a text message this morning and when I pressed the "C" button it did this on the screen:

Kq
cn

Has anyone seen this before? Rebooted the phone, took out the battery, anything else I need to try? Something that someone has seen before?

Mine does something similar.

Keys that are RANDOMLY RETARDED (sometimes they work fine )

c - bunch of letters
g - not working
p - sends text
b - types "ib"

Any one know whats up with this? My mom got the Q on my advice and now she is having similar problems.

I have had this happen on occasion when entering with the intuitive text thingy. I'll start typing a word and it decides that I must want a different word and when I backspace it starts adding random letters. Maybe not quite the same, but mildly annoying. It doesn't happen often enough to cause problems though so... Curious to see if anyone else knows what this is.

Check my post in the other thread that references this problem.

My phone does almost exactly the same thing with the same keys. I also have a problem with using the 'Send' key, it automatically tries to dial the number 4. It also seems to make the entire system glitch, sometimes rebooting the phone.

I wonder if the fact that these phones are having the same problems at around the same times, if it could be a virus? I don't believe it is a hardware issue, because in some applications on the phone, those keys work fine.

Ya, my send button sends and also returns a "4" Very annoying!!!

I loved my Q untill this started happening, now it's a brick of missory to me. Sprint wont help me with it and it will be at least 2 weeks for motorola to "look" at it.

I went over to MOL4 but that didn't help. Very randomly happens.

The keys also change when the screen goes dim:
the g wont work, but I wait for the screen to dim and the g will output "jg"

I think this is a phone issue, my moms Q has the same problems too.

By no means am I an expert, but I bet the opposite. The Q has the advantage of being able to allow you to add software. Unfortunately, sometimes we add software that have bugs that interfere with the basic functions of the Q.

If you -- and/or your mom -- have such added software, try making sure you have "killed" them after using them. Then, see if you still have the keyboard issues.

Sounds like wetness or moisture got in there somehow. Give it a day or two and if that doesn't help, it might be shot.
