Problem w/ Mother's Phone! Help, Please :)

Hello everyone,

THis is my first post, sorry it has to be a problem with this amazing phone. Anyways my mother and I just got these phone three days ago (trying to ween her off of the paper calendar and it's working she loves it). But yesterday evening she plugged the phone in to charge the phone and this morning she found her phone powered off and it will not turn back on. We have tried everything. Tried using my (known good) battery in her phone still no response. Put her battery in my (known good) phone and my started acting the same way, no response and wont power on. Tried her phone plugged in with both of the batteries and it still would not turn on. So, her battery won't work in either of our phones, and my battery only works in my phone. Does this mean that both her phone and her battery are bad? anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? If the phone is bad, can we retrieve all of the contact information and calendar information to be put on a new MotoQ, because if not she will not want to get another smartphone and we will lose her to the paper calendar forever .

Hmm. That is an odd one....

off the top of my head,

1) did you have some kind of electrical surge/outtage that you know of?
2) possible that her battery is ok but just out of power:
plug her battery into your phone and then with your phone off - plug your phone into power to charge it up. see if it will charge the battery.

It sounds like you tried everything. I would guess that you need to get the Q swapped by Verizon. As for the contacts, unless your mother used Outlook to enter/backup her contacts, or if she used a backup program such as Sprite Backup to back them up to a memory card, then most likely the contacts are lost.
