Possible Memory Leak?

have you installed any programs on your Q's memory...and just thought you did on your storage card?

Most programs install where you want them but I found that the current Google Mobile Maps installs to the device even if you request the storage card.

I also move my CABS over to the storage card after I've installed the programs. They can be just deleted, but I like to have them on the card for a quick reinstall. I originally thought they first had to be on the device but they seem to run from the storage card.

Pardon me if I state the obvious or already known but some of these things (no matter how simple) have taken me 6 months to figure out.

well it asks you where you want to install them...so maybe you think you scrolled over to say storage card but really didnt...you never know sometimes...

and my googlemaps installed right to my storage card

although i think every program puts something on the Q...program as a whole should def. install to the SD card...

and yes...the new WLS is pretty nice...havent played with it alot but seems pretty good!

Just downloaded the latest version from google.com/gmm and it downloaded the cab direct to the storage card but when I ran the cab it installed the program on the device even though I requested the storage card (made sure this time)

There are 14 files under device/programs/googlemaps/ including the exe

I run most of my software from the card except programs that reference the Q's internal databases. and I now switch between a couple of 2gb cards. Each have all the executable directories and get sync'd with mobsync back to my pc thanks to this forum.

hmmm i wonder why it wont go to the SD card for you...
or perhaps mine is doing the samething and im just not aware of it
