Default pMSNServer.exe??

What is this? It seems to always be running, even though I kill it everytime I see it. Is this what is draining my battery?

I've got EVERYTHING turned off. No email, bluetooth, activesync, wireless sync, na daa. I used to go about 4 days per charge, not I'm back to about 1 or maybe 2.

So whats this MSN program? I've never used the MSN program. I'm thinking about manually deleting it. Ideas?

What I did to get rid of this problem was go into the registry and delete any thing that I found had pmsn in it. It has solved the pmsn.exe problem for me with no ill effect.

Gonna do it too. Liked the post that said to just change .DLL to .DL and this would stop it.

But, I can not find it. Got the PHM thing, but have no idea where to change the dll thing.........

Where are you seeing PMSNServer running? When you look in the task manager?

I don't think I've ever seen in running in mine.

Is it always there for you guys or it comes and goes? How often do you see it there?

bump . . . do a google search on pMSNServer.exe and the similar msnserver.exe. Comes up with a lot of info.

Is this the process that reports back to VZW or MSN normally?

this will kill pMSNserver.exe within 30 seconds.

-go to resco and on home screen search MSN.
-now open up InprocServer32
-go to (Default) key
-change name to pMSNShared.dl

since it no longer is a .dll file it will not run properly however if you ever wanted to to run again to repeat and then just edit back to a .dll file.

here is that dll file for you...i just did this and it seems to have worked...we'll find out after a couple hours of checking my task manager every few minutes...

On my Q it is only there sometimes. I think I've narrowed it down to only starting if I open the text messages. It's not there when I go into Email, but whenever I check a text message then look at the processes it's there.
