Default Phone Shuts itself off?

Is there a feature on the phone like in power management that shuts the phone OFF after a certain amount of time? I cant seem to find one.

Thing is - i have my phone with me all day at work, dont even use it much - keep the keyboard locked so nothing presses by accident. Charge it to full battery every night. Yet for some reason it just shuts itself off every now and then. at least a few times a day. i take it out of my pocket to see if i have any new messages and the damn thing is OFF!

Am i alone on this problem here? I am about to take it to Verizon and get a new one, just wanted to see if anyone else is in the same boat as me.

Thanks !
Mike

Default extended battery

as soon as I got my Q I bought the extended battery and I had the same problem. When i switched to the original battery the problem stopped.

Default its because it sucks....

I had this problem

Open the back where the battery is and push/hold firm the battery next to the contacts

while holding the battery turn on phone and it should work.

Now you just have to figure out how to keep the battery in tight.

After doing this mine didnt have any problem again.

I have had the Q shut off on me a few times now, it doesn't seem like a chronic re-occurance though...seems completely random. I get a problem where I'll go back to the home page and press the dimmer key to make the screen turn off, and when i press a key to activate the screen again it brings me to the last open program I had before returning to the home screen and turning it off.

An example; I was browsing new games...chess to be exact. I went back to the home screen, checked msn, and the proceeded to let it hibernate. An hour later when I checked for messages and what not it displayed the chess buy page right away before pressing any keys. Straaaaange.

I've had the same issue. Drives me crazy. It happens at random with the original battery or the extended. I've missed a few calls from my boss becuase the phone was off.

Default Random shut off potential solution

My Q would shut down while in the lock mode.
I found that one of the battery saving tips seem to cause this.
The battery saving tip is to shut down the "beam" in connections.
Looks like if you turn this off the Q will shut down while in the lock mode.
Hope this helps
Start-> Settings -> connections -> Beam
Keep the box checked and it solved my random shut off.

I've had three Q's now. My second Q constantly shut off by itself. About 10+ times during the course of a day. Completely random. I only let this go on for about 48 hours before getting it replaced. I feel that if it were a loose battery issue, that is not my problem to figure out.
